The House

A private house,
held to the brief.

A private consulting practice for principals and family offices. We work by introduction, keep the room deliberately small, and bring structure, treasury, systems, and governance into one written programme. The work stays confidential, with no client names or AUM figures published, and every mandate closes with decisions and documentation a household can carry forward.

Mandate

We run no more than twelve retained mandates at a time and open two to three new mandates in a typical year.

Typologies

Who we work with.

01

The Business Owner

The question

“Should we structure the business as a single entity, or stand up a holding company before we hire the next round of people?”

First 90 days

The first 90 days map the operating entities, ownership, treasury, decision rights, and hiring calendar. We then write the structure and sequence the legal, financial, and operating workstreams around the business rather than ahead of it.

What good looks like

Good looks like a structure the owner understands, advisers can execute, and the next management team can inherit without reconstructing the original intent.

02

The Family Office Principal

The question

“How do we bring the family book, the operating assets, and the next generation under one programme without flattening what makes each different?”

First 90 days

The first 90 days establish a family map, read the existing mandates and policies, name decision rights, and set a practical calendar for structure, treasury, reporting, and committee work.

What good looks like

Good looks like one legible book, governed across generations, with a cadence the principal, trustees, committee, and external specialists can all follow.

03

The High-Net-Worth Individual

The question

“I have accumulated assets across businesses, markets, and jurisdictions. What should the whole arrangement become?”

First 90 days

The first 90 days organise the holdings, counterparties, liquidity needs, and obligations into a single view. We identify what needs counsel, what needs policy, and what should remain deliberately simple.

What good looks like

Good looks like a private programme with clear ownership, controlled liquidity, fewer loose decisions, and documentation that remains useful as circumstances change.

Method & discretion

The house chooses its work carefully.

Work usually opens with the discipline of a diagnostic: a paid reading of the present arrangement, its structural gaps, and the calendar the principal is actually living on. We accept the mandate only when the questions are material, the authority to answer them is clear, and the household can tolerate the changes the work may require.

When the reading supports a longer programme, the house moves from diagnosis into the architecture described by a programme build. Structure, treasury, governance, analytical systems, and specialist coordination are run in parallel against one written brief. Regulated advice and execution stay with authorised third parties.

We run no more than twelve retained mandates at a time and open two to three new mandates in a typical year.

Discretion is part of the method. We keep the mandate narrow, the room small, and the correspondence direct. Every retained engagement closes against the original brief with decisions ready to sign, durable documentation, and a calendar for the season ahead.

The desk

Two functions. One programme.

01

Commercial & Relationships

Mandate Lead

Owns the written mandate, the principal relationship, and the sequence of the programme. This desk coordinates counsel, administrators, counterparties, and specialists so each workstream advances against the same brief.

02

Analytical & Technical

Quantitative & Technical Lead

Owns the analytical layer, from models and screening logic to operating systems and decision trails. This desk turns the mandate into tools and documentation the office can run, inspect, and hand forward.

Presence

Cape Town · Sandton.
Work that crosses borders.

Cape Town is the house base, close to the founders, operating businesses, and families whose capital remains anchored in the continent. Sandton is the commercial desk, connecting mandates to counsel, institutions, counterparties, and the wider financial system.

The work is not bounded by either city. We coordinate across jurisdictions and time zones while keeping accountability in one room. Introductions open the door, meetings are by appointment, and every mandate proceeds under confidentiality.

Correspondence

If the house above
fits the season,

We maintain a small number of retained mandates and open new mandates selectively. Write to the private office. We reply with care, and without obligation.
